They are in the middle of transforming their initial portraits in to their hero image. The results are already promising, stay tuned!
Working in conjunction with the English department, the Year 8 students are developing portraits of 'superheroes'. As they design pen portraits and story boards in English, they are creating portraits in art that will show the contrast between the normal appearance of their hero and their heroic personality. They are in the middle of transforming their initial portraits in to their hero image. The results are already promising, stay tuned! A selection of these works are now in the gallery section of this website. Click on the button.
The Year 7 students have completed their mask designs this week. As an extension of the project titled 'grotesque creatures' they looked at the way different cultures use masks to decorate and perform ceremonies. By combining elements of their grotesques with characteristics of masks from Mexico, Africa and North America the students designed their own mask, modelled it in modroc and worked on developing their colour mixing skills using acrylic paints. The results are both colourful and expressive. Well done Year 7. |
